Our chickens and turkeys are fed non-GMO grains grown from local farms. Their fields are rotated regularly so they can maximize their consumption of fresh grasses and insects and ensure the best quality of organic chicken and turkey. Great care is made to keep them stress-free. They are hand loaded and unloaded at the processing facilities so as not to scare or stress them.
We raise both cornish-cross and freedom ranger chickens. The cornish-cross has more breast/white meat and is an overall more tender bird. They finish in 8 weeks as opposed to the freedom rangers who finish in 12 weeks. The freedom rangers do a much better job of grazing and are more active compared to the cornish-cross.
We raise two types of turkeys: broad breasted and heritage breeds, depending on your palate and cooking needs. Broad breasted turkeys have more breast/white meat and are generally a larger framed bird. The heritage breeds are known to have more flavor and are more active resulting in a slightly tougher meat.
